Yesterday was the official presentation of the II Tryout of the Atlético de Madrid Foundation and Sports Unlimited. On 15 and 16 February in Buitrago del Lozoya, Madrid, a series of tests will be held for obtaining a scholarship to study for a degree in the United States and compete at the highest level in the American College League.
Carlos Aguilera, Director of the Academy; Adelardo Rodríguez, President of the Atlético de Madrid Foundation, and Gerardo Piris, General Manager of Sports Unlimited all attended the event. Aguilera stressed that “for the Club, preparation and sports training from a young age is the grounding for any professional athlete. We’ve already experienced it with players from our Academy, a world benchmark in the grassroots model”. Adelardo explained that at the Foundation “we offer the possibility of obtaining a scholarship to study and play soccer, and live ‘an American dream’”. Gerardo said that Sports Unlimited wants to “help young people achieve a dream. We believe that it’s a good project in which we offer accommodation, residence, sports training and advice throughout the process”,
